Dainty Betelnut Seeks Crowd-Sourcing for Funds

The Taiwan-made Dainty Betelnut, written by everyone's favorite Lonely Planet author and directed by the King of Betel Nut Beauties, is nearly done filming. To replenish food and drinks, as well as equipment rental for their skeleton camera crew and actors, they are asking for $1,000 donations from the crown. For this worthy donation, people can get a VIP pass to the movie's premier as well as a copy of the DVD. Support the local scene and help artists finish their projects.
We are using
the "crowd-funding model" to get this movie funded, and this is how
it works: I am pre-selling tickets to the Premiere party. Basically you send me
NT$1,000, and you'll get a VIP invitation to the party at a cool location in
Taipei where we will screen the film (as well as a LIMITED EDITION DVD of the
movie with behind-the-scenes interviews, as well as bloopers) followed by live
music, and the chance to hobnob with the cast and crew.
So, to be a part of this movie, all you have to do is send Tobie Openshaw NT$1,000 in whatever way convenient to you. Text him at 0931091608 (outside of Taiwan +886 931091608 ~ JSB) and say, "I want to help you make your movie!" together with your name, and he'll text you the ATM details. Or send it by PayPal to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Or email me at that address and I'll send you details. Send a damn pigeon if you must, but get me that $1,000 and cool things will happen!
