Like...Grody to the Max, Dude...

Bass Kitchen and Karma join forces this Saturday night for Just 80s, a party where pleather, headbands, and banana clips will be on display.

Waakao caught up with the DJs and promoters and asked them a simple question:

What do you remember most about the 1980s?

DJ BB:

Magnum, PI (since Tom Selleck stopped wearing short pants, he carreer never stopped declining)

Sarah Chi:

My answer is my father. That's how I knew those 60s-80s songs since I heard those songs while he drove the car, or even when he washed the car he always listened to that music. I couldn't undertand those songs since I was so little and couldn't even speak English but I still remember those songs now. And I love those songs no matter of other people think they are crappy because they made me feel close to my father since that was the only time we were close.

DJ Simon:

Disney World is probably the one thing that stands out from the 80s. I remember being dumbstruck by the size of the place and everything in it. Strangely, I particularly remember the size of the car park. It was the first time I'd seen a place where they had shuttle trains to take you from your car to the entrance.

DJ Marcus Aurelius:

The 80s to me was a time of playing football after school, pasting my walls with MJ posters, being in love with Mary Lou Retton, and accidentally killing my hampster. And that was all in one weekend. Some things I dig:

Hands Across America. I went to this and was so sad that there weren't enough people to actually make the chair from coast to coast.

One Night in Bangkok. I remember a friend was the first one on the block to have a mini-tape recorder and we taped it off the video and played it over and over.

Warrior. While cyber-digging for this party, I realized how much I love this song. Shooting at the wall of heartache. Bang bang.
